Anja P. Jakobi is Senior Lecturer in International Relations at the Department of Politics and International Relations, Royall Holloway, University of London. As political scientist and sociologist, she is interested in the theoretical and empirical investigation of world society, international institutions and global political change.
Her current work focuses on the inquiry of global institutions against crime, and the governance of global illegal markets. She is author and editor of five books, and has published in journals of different disciplines. Her most recent book ‚Common Goods and Evils? The Formation of Global Crime Governance’ (2013, Oxford University Press) shows how states created different international institutions that fight global crime. While many crimes have been tackled in national and international politics, organ trafficking is one of the most recent criminal challenges, and any attempt to regulate this area is urgently needed.
