Michael is a 3-time kidney transplant recipient. His last transplant was one of the first ABO incompatible transplants performed in the United States.
Michael is currently the Chairman and CEO of PHmHealth. He has worked with some of the world’s healthcare focused companies, including Epocrates and PriceSpective (ICON PLC) to provide pricing, market access, and global launch strategies. Michael also serves as a mentor to startups and students in the Philly Health CodeFest, a business advisor to the QED Program at the Science Center in Philadelphia, as a judge in Temple’s Innovative Idea Competition, and as a patient advocate and representative with NephCure Kidney International.
In his advocacy work, Michael serves on the Steering Committee for the NephCure Kidney Network, a Patient Powered Research Network (PPRN), which is run through a PCORI-funded grant to NephCure Kidney International. He is also the Co-Chair for the Data Collections Workgroup in this same PPRN.
Additionally, he is a trained speaker for the National Kidney Foundation on Your Kidneys and You. Michael and his family are also active volunteers and donors to the Family House at the Gift of Life Donor Program.
